When most of us think of Halloween, we think of costume parties, trick-or-treating, and candy. But have you ever wondered how all of those traditions came to be? Halloween goes way back in history and is a bit spookier than you may realize. We celebrate Halloween for so many interesting reasons—thats why I love Halloween! Maybe my addiction to scary movies has something to do with my excitement this time of year, but I think it has more to do with the fact that Halloween is perfect in every way imaginable. Here are some of the things I love about Halloween. Lets take a moment to admire the fact that we live in a world where we can spend a day dressed as creeps, superheroes, villains, masked-murders, princesses, and even animals. We even get awarded candy for doing so. But did you know Halloween originated from the ancient Gaelic festival of Samhain? It marked a time of year when seasons changed, however it also was believed to be the boundary between this world and the next. This became a day to connect with the dead. Halloween is one amazing holiday.
