For those of us that are in JROTC have the privilege totake part of an amazing experience that no other student in the school are part of (unless invited by a cadet). We know it as The Military Ball. Military Ball is like our very own prom. Not only do we get to dance, but we have a ceremony and DINNER! Our military ball takes place at the Anaheim Convention Center with five other JROTC high schools. Its were the guys can look very handsome without having to pay a cent for what they wear as for the girls we do have to get a dress/night gown but its a day where we can dress up and feel beautiful. This is for everyone in the program and not only juniors and seniors. The price is very affordable for what you will be receiving it’s $38 for everyone. Once we get there we go to find out table and then we take our seats and wait for the ceremony to start. As soon as the ceremony starts we have a Fallen Comrade Table also a veteran goes gives a speech and for this year we had a cake cutting ceremony for the 100th anniversary of JROTC! After the ceremony we get a three course dinner which includes salad a delicious auntre and an incredible dessert. After desert we have our crowning ceremony where each school crowns their king and queen. Each king and queen get to go through an arch of sabers up to the front and receive their crowns. They get to do a dance together and that’s how they open the dance. After that the rest of the night is just dancing. During this time we get to go out the ball room and take pictures with our phones or we can pay for someone to take our picture. It’s an incredible experience that every one that has gone has loved. Its one of those times when we can all get together as one single team and just enjoy the time that we have together. We can get to know our coming freshman and start to say good bye to our seniors. Its a dance that we will remember forever and remember the people that we were with. Ever since I went my freshman year I loved it I decided that I would go to every year so that’s something that I always look forward to and with my friends we count the months and days until the ball.
